Beyond the Basics Conference - Aug 1st

15/06/2009

Update

Beyond the Basics conference for educators is being held on Saturday August 1st at Coburg Senior High School.

New session: Presentation Magic - presented by Les Posen

We are fortunate to be able to offer a one hour essence of Presentation Magic as food for thought. Les presented sessions at Mac World in both 2008 and 2009, and has recently returned from Boston, where he met with the Keynote development team to offer suggestions on how to improve their software.

The conference is the brainchild of a coalition of several education sector companies that have combined energies to create a better PD experience for teachers.

While still a marketing opportunity from our perspective,  it has the potential to be the ‘new’ model for PD.

Far too many conferences are ‘hit and run’

There is no time to talk...

yet often the workshops are all talk

Displayers have little opportunity to show how to use the products, and consequently resort to selling the product.

In education if a product is worth using, it will sell itself...

providing that teachers have a chance to acquaint themselves with the possibilities...

This all takes time...

Who are we?

The Constructivist Coalition  is a coalition of several education sector companies including Cider House, Connecting Point, CP Software and Edsoft.

Where to go for more details on the conference.

You can check out the current information at the conference webpage, and you can register NOW.

The Constructivist Coalition will...

  provide the time to talk,

  discuss,

  and explore possibilities

assist educators to make informed decisions about the ICT they choose to employ in their classrooms and schools

Increasingly price alone is not always the determining factor....

   advice

  after sales support

  warranty

  PD and implementation assistance

may in the long run cost more than the initial ICT purchase.
